There are many ways to get on the internet nowadays; you do not even need to be at home or on a computer in order to do it. Of course, the classic way to get on the internet still works, hooking into a modem from your desk top and surfing the net, however it’s by no means the simplest and most convenient way to surf the net.
If you have any internet ready devices in your house, you know that you have to go wireless and at the very least you are going to want a wireless modem in your home. This way, any devices that are able to go online thru WiFi, can be used in your home without needing to plug something in. Most devices have a wireless feature, including game consoles, cell phones and tablets.
Of course you aren’t restricted to these items and some of these items such as the phones and tablets don’t even need WiFi. They’re able to run off of the same networks as your phone does, however offer the entire internet on a portable device that does not need to find a hotspot. Another great thing that they do is if you do find a hotspot, they can run off of WiFi and save your air minutes and run even faster. WiFi runs faster and downloads are even more rapid than 3G or 4G. 4G is not even available in all markets yet, mostly limited to bigger cities and large population centers.

Whether you’re a travel junkie or just one of those unfortunate individuals whose inner navigation system is skewed, Android navigation apps are here to save the day. Have you ever found yourself suddenly lost in an unfamiliar area of the city or unable to locate an unfamiliar destination? Stopping to ask for directions isn’t the safest choice. Take one of these apps along when you leave home and you’ll have no trouble finding your way back.
Google Maps
Google Maps is probably the best known navigation app anywhere. The fact that it provides free voice-guided GPS makes it an easy choice. If you aren’t lost but are looking for a place to eat, shop or find entertainment, Google Places will help you get there. Get recommendations for places to try and those to avoid. Apply your own place ratings for others to view. Google Latitude makes it possible to find friends on the map and to check in at places.

Technology is a fantastic thing and it is amazing how much technology has changed peoples lives. But it can be a double edged sword with so many new technologies and, more importantly, so many manufacturer’s providing different options and different prices it can be tough to decide. In this article we’ll cover some of the best features that are available and whether or not they are right for you.
When it comes to buying a tablet, most people like the mobility that they provide. Being a flat slate that is lightweight and able to be held in one hand, you can carry it around with you from room to room and it’s easy to pack up and go. But not all tablets have the ability to connect to the web from the road. Just about every tablet has built in WiFi (I can’t think of one that doesn’t) but not all have the ability to connect to the internet using the 3G service (the technology that cellphones use). Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that if you want the 3G portability you will have to subscribe with a cellphone carrier and these plans cost anywhere from $40-65+ a month.
Another big thing that differentiates tablet computers is the computing technology. Being used for things like surfing the internet, connecting with friends on social media sites (such as Facebook and Twitter), and play games, it’s not really necessary to have the same computing power as a laptop or desktop computer. And because some tablets limit the size of their processor, you won’t always be able to do certain things such as multi-task (run multiple program at once) or stream video from the internet. Depending on how you want to use your tablet this may or may not be a big deal and you can pretty much guarantee it will be a factor on the price. In general, if you are looking for top of the line performance or just want the ability to watch movies or TV shows direct from the internet (via Netflix or Amazon Prime), you will want to pick up a tablet that has a dual-core processor.
